Good Samaritans Return Stolen Money

February 7, 2010
By Dan OBrien

On Saturday, February 6, 2010 around 1:58 p.m., a husband and wife of Rialto called the West Foothill Sheriff’s Station to report they had found a black bag in the Lytle Creek wash.

When deputies responded to the location, the couple gave them a bag that contained personal belongings and a large sum of money.

Upon investigation, deputies learned that the property belonged to a victim of a vehicle burglary that had occurred in Fontana the day before.

The property and money was returned to the victim, who was surprised it had been located in the wash and was very appreciative.
